A little bit about us
Why us? It's easy to say 'Hello, we're The Wainhouse Co and this is what we do' but what we really want to tell you, is why we do what we do.
All of us here are interior designers at heart, we fell in love with the process of creating a home that not only looked good but felt good too. A place that you could really call 'Home'.
We saw a gap in the interiors world that called for furniture pieces where you could 'design your own'. Products that were made to fit your dream interior without the compromise of quality.
With the rise of fast produced products, we wanted to bring back true English values, simplicity, quality and sustainability.
That's why we only use the highest quality of materials and handmake every item, perfecting every square inch until we're really satisfied with what we've made.

We're known for producing high quality, long lasting, sustainable furniture.
That reputation stems from our commitment to the environment. When it comes to crafting beautiful furniture, we ensure that we use sustainable materials. You'll find that we regularly use FSC and PEFC certified wood materials where applicable. FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council, the organisation was established in 1993 in response to escalating deforestation and is a way to responsibly take care and manage our forests. All of our timber and other wood suppliers hold FSC and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) Chain of Custody Certificates and undergo annual inspection to ensure continued compliance.

The origin of our wood comes from France, Finland, Italy and Slovenia.

What is the difference between Satin and Matt?Our matt finish is completely flat and our satin finish has an 18% sheen to it which reflects some light. Both of these finishes are Osmo Oil Treatments, which means it will protect your furniture against spillages while also being easy to clean.

Will my item(s) arrive before Christmas?We are extremely busy at this time of year, and not all of our items will arrive before Christmas if you are thinking of placing an order from Monday 20/11 onwards. For items such as the Scandinavian Mandal Bar Stool, you can expect the items to arrive in the New Year 2024, the same goes for bespoke orders and our oak tables. What happens if my item has been damaged or lost in transit?If your item has been damaged in transit, don't worry! Get in touch to let us know and we will immediately send out a replacement item at no extra charge.

What is your returns policy?We’ll happily take back any item (in its original packaging) within 14 days of delivery. If you have decided that you no longer want the item or don't like it - you may be asked to return the items at your own expense. If your item has been damaged during transit, or is not as described - we will cover the cost of any additional postage fees and can either replace the item or issue you a full refund.
